Technical issues are expensive, and often impossible to fix once a film has been delivered. We don't simply create your DCP, we make sure it performs exactly as expected when it reaches the projection booth.
For more than a decade we've mastered Digital Cinema Packages for independent filmmakers, distributors, exhibitors and global entertainment companies.

DCP mastering, common questions
What is a DCP?
A Digital Cinema Package (DCP) is the standard format cinemas use to play a film. It holds the picture as JPEG 2000 image sequences, the audio as uncompressed tracks, and the metadata the projector needs to play it all back. For a full explainer, read our guide: What is a DCP?
How long does DCP mastering take?
Most short and feature DCPs are delivered within a few business days, and we can turn around urgent festival deadlines faster. Timing depends on runtime, source format, and whether subtitles, encryption or 3D are involved.
What is the difference between SMPTE and Interop DCPs?
Interop is the older standard that plays on almost any cinema server. SMPTE is the modern standard required for features like closed captions and advanced audio. We master both and advise which your venue needs.
Can you make encrypted DCPs and KDMs?
Yes. We create encrypted DCPs and issue KDM keys locked to specific cinemas and date ranges, so your film only plays where and when you authorise it.
What do you need from me to make a DCP?
A high quality master is ideal, such as ProRes, DPX or an image sequence, along with your final audio and any subtitle files. If you are not sure what you have, send it over and we will work out the best path.
Do you make 2K, 4K and 3D DCPs?
Yes. We master 2K and 4K in both 2D and 3D, at standard and high frame rates, and every package is tested before delivery.
